About

AI4PV is an EUROGIA2030 and ITEA4 project part of the EUREKA cluster. This work is financed by the ERDF - European Regional Development Fund - through the Operational Programme for Competitiveness and Internationalisation COMPETE 2020 under the Portugal 2020 Partnership Agreement within project AI4PV, with reference POCI-01-0247-FEDER-111936 – and Spain’s Multi-regional Operational Programme 2014-202, under CDTI Agreement for the project AI4PV, with reference IDI-20201080. International collaborative project EUR 2020058 with the seal of the AI EUREKA CLUSTER.

Objectives

The main goals of the AI4PV project is to increase the operational performance of PV power plants. The expected result is a set of tools for PV plant O&M and Asset Managers to increase operational reliability and efficiency, namely: (1) high precision of early detection of failures and diagnosis; (2) improve economic performance by downtime reduction and detecting performance problems that can affec electrical energy generation.

PROJECT INNOVATIONS AND SOLUTIONS

Main objectives

Increase the availability and reliability of solar plants.
Increasing the generated electrical energy per installed kW
Support and simplify the O&M interventions, reducing the outage time and the O&M costs
Optimizing the use of O&M resources, namely by the use of predictive maintenance solutions
Lower the LCOE, thus increasing the return-on-investment and incentivizing the investment in future farms
